We Need Women!

“We need women at all levels, including the top, to change the dynamic, reshape the conversation, to make sure women’s voices are heard and heeded, not overlooked and ignored.” –Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook, founder of leanin.org, and author of Lean In and Option B.

This year we are excited to host the inaugural MASFAA Women’s Symposium June 6-8 at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio.  As Sheryl Sandberg says about women in business, the financial aid profession needs women leaders at all levels, from the newcomer with no experience to the director with 20+ years of experience.  We all have something to learn no matter our age or level of career development.  The Women’s Symposium agenda has been created with this in mind.  Participants will create a network of support and leave feeling confident in advancing their careers through personal influence, professionalism, and leadership abilities.  Register today to learn more about:

·         Advocating for yourself
·         Creating a work/life balance
·         Identifying your leadership style
·         Assertive communication
·         Mentoring relationships
·         Gender-based issues in the workplace
·         Becoming the director

The Women’s Symposium will kick off on Wednesday afternoon with a short networking event and will wrap up on Friday morning with a financial aid directors panel discussion.  Before leaving Columbus, Women’s Symposium participants will rejoin participants in other tracks for a MASFAA leadership panel.  We hope to see you there!
